Respect other forumites
Refrain from flaming, trolling or baiting. If you disagree with someone present your opinion and reasons; simply belittling someone who has an opposing point of view is not welcome here. This also applies to PM's. We will not tolerate abuse or harrassment of any members in any way for any reason.

Remain on topic

1) While we feel that spam is impossible to eliminate, please try to remain on topic when you post. "On-topic spam" will be allowed to a degree. We will post requests to return to the original topic if spam threatens to overrun a thread.

2) Spam will not be tolerated in the Serious Discussion forum. Serious Discussion is for serious, mature discussion. If you decide to add your opinion to a topic in Serious Discussion, make sure you explain yourself, your point of view and why you agree or disagree. If you start a topic in Serious Discussion, post your opinion as well as the question you want to ask or statement you are trying to debate.

3) If you want to go off-topic in the Serious Discussion forums, create a new thread for the new discussion. You should do this in any case, but Serious Discussion threads should always remain on topic.

No excessive profanities
The occasional light swearing are alright by us, but if you go out of your way to get around our word censors, you will be be warned. Repeat offenders will be suspended or banned.

Do not repost deleted material
The same applies to locked material. Deleted posts and threads remain with a deletion notice in place. Use your discretion in this case; if something was deleted because of abuse, you can post the same thing without the abuse. However, simply repeating something that was deleted or locked is not acceptable.

Reporting posts
If you have any concerns about the content of a post, send a PM to a Moderator or Administrator (the Forum Leaders can be seen from a link on the index page, under the forum listings). Preferably, report the post using the report feature, which will automatically send a report to everyone authorised to deal with it. Do not respond to the post or thread in question yourself. If we are forced to deal with a thread that has degenerated into a flame war we will deal with all participants equally. We don't care who started it. If you participate, you will be held equally responsible.

Advertising
Kindly refrain from advertising sales or services not related to mapling. Although we do not condone the advertising and promoting of illegal business such as Buying/Selling Asiasoft accounts or Buying/Selling PPCs, you will be held responsible for your own actions should the relevant authorities take action on such transactions.

Use common sense
If you don't think something will be acceptable, do not post it. Just because it's not listed here doesn't make it okay.

Use the default colour wherever possible
Spamming colours in your posts can be rather distracting and it more commonly used by our mods to denote importance and source for administrative posts.

Ignorance of these rules is no excuse for failing to abide by them.

If you have any concerns with a decision made by a Moderator, you should send a PM to that Mod detailing the reasons why. That Mod will either confirm their decision and explain to you the reasons why, or reverse their decision based on your appeal. If the decision is reversed, no further correspondence is required. if the decision is confirmed and you still do not agree, send a PM to Phaenteirae explaining your concerns. Send her a copy of all relevant correspondence from the beginning. If you still have concerns, tough luck. We obviously disagree with you. Do NOT take your concerns to the forums in an attempt to have the decision overturned that way.
